Can I apply lime paint with any common
block brush?

Yes, as long as you use a good quality brush, for example, one with pig skin hair. The quality of the brush affects the texture and the final result.
You can also apply Fresco lime paint with a sponge or a towel.

Can I apply lime paint with a roller?

No, it will leave pigment- and roller marks and this technique does not generate the typical look of lime. Lime lumps will accumulate at the edges of the roller.
Tools
Surfaces
Should I prep the surface?

Yes, depending on the surface a decent prep may be necessary. For optimal adhesion on non-mineral surfaces, we recommend one layer of Wallprim.
The surface has to be free of fat, dust and has to be coherent.

Can I use any random primer?

No, P&O specially developed Wallprim for Fresco Lime Paint and Marrakech Walls. We can only guaranty perfect adhesion with the use of P&O Wallprim.

Is it possible to apply lime paint on lacquer?

No, unless you sand it until it is matte and prep it with our special primer first.

Is it possible to apply lime paint over latex?

Yes, lime paint can be applied over latex, as long as the Wallprim is used first for good adhesion. The primer can be ordered in the same colors as lime paint.

Is it possible to apply lime paint on top of lime paint?

Yes, however,  lime paint has to be fully dry and cured. Our advice is to wait for at least 48 hours. Wallprim might be helpful to eliminate the absorbent property of lime paint.

Is it possible to paint wallpaper with lime paint?

Yes, as long as you apply Wallprim first. Be careful with wallpaper that has a texture, it affects the natural texture and appearance of lime paint.

What about lime paint on wood?

Yes, it's possible to apply lime paint directly on bare wood. On MDF we recommend using one layer of Wallprim

Can lime paint be applied to plaster and stucco?

Yes, adhesion on mineral surfaces is fine, as long as it is dry and solid. Remove loose parts and dust. Wallprim might be helpful to eliminate the absorbent property of stucco.
Does lime paint revile color?

No, that used to be the case with old lime paint, but not with our products.

Is lime paint washable?

No, lime paint is porous, it will absorb the stain. We recommend to remove dirt asap with a warm damp cloth and if needed sand it slightly. It's recommended to protect high traffic areas and wet rooms with our Dead Flat Ecosealer.

Can lime paint be applied in a bathroom
or restroom?

Yes, lime paint is bacteria- and mold-resistant and very suitable for wet rooms. For parts that are exposed directly to water, we recommend making it water repellant and easy to clean with our Dead Flat Ecosealer because water spots can cause stains on lime. Note: we don't support the use of Fresco on the interior side of showers.

Is Lime paint heat resistant?

Yes, lime paint is inflammable.
If protected with Dead Flat Ecosealer; the sealer is heat resistant up to 100 degrees Celsius /212 Fahrenheit.
