Massif is a micro-stone grainy, textured paint, comparable to microcement, with a stunningly natural stone-like look. It is an excellent, eco-friendly alternative to microcement products. With 85% mineral components and no synthetic binders, Massif delivers a natural cement-like look with a significantly lower environmental footprint than traditional microcement systems. It can be applied to interior and exterior walls, ceilings, countertops, tabletops, wet rooms, and floors, making it the most technically versatile product in the Pure & Original range. Available in 32 curated colors. Discover our eco-friendly, micro-stone, textured finish. It offers a luxuriously cement-like architectural (two-coat) textured finish for multiple purposes, such as wet cells, walls, ceilings, kitchen and bathroom countertops, and even, if professionally applied to a suitable substrate, for floors. It’s comparable to microcement finishes but without the cement, which makes it a sustainable alternative. We recommend protection with 1K or 2K Varnish of substrates with high endurance.
What it looks like
Massif produces a grainy, dense surface with a micro-stone texture that resembles concrete or polished stone. The finish is matte. Color is uniform across the surface with the subtle natural variation of a mineral material, giving it an architectural quality that reads as stone rather than paint. It suits kitchens, bathrooms, and living spaces that favour a modern, minimal, or industrial aesthetic.

Color accuracy:
The color of Massif is similar to the color card. Using our Wallprim or Omniprim primers in the same color contributes to color accuracy. Unlike with lime finishes, a protective sealer will not deepen the color. The texture of Massif depends on the application technique and whether you sand it or leave its coarse character as it is.
Color card recommended:
Digital screens are not a reliable source for color selection. It’s best to order our hand-painted color card.

Surface preparation:
Ensure the substrate is completely smooth and that seams are addressed before applying Massif; connecting panels require at least a level 4 finish (taped). For proper adhesion, long-term durability, and color accuracy, prepare with our Wallprim or Omniprim primer in the same color. The technical sheet provides additional information on preparing diverse substrates.
Protection: Massif is naturally water-repellent. Protection is unnecessary for surfaces where the material only comes into light contact with water. For areas with extensive exposure to water, dirt, or chemicals, it is recommended to protect with Varnish Matte 1k (or 2k). This self-curing one-component system makes the surface stain—and scratch-resistant and easy to clean. Apply Varnish Matte in 2 or 3 thin layers with a flat (Spalter) brush.
We also carry a two-component (2K) varnish for extreme exposure, such as shower cabins, floors, or commercial swimming pool areas. Don’t hesitate to contact us if you wonder if 2K is a better alternative for your project.
Pro-tip: Avoid using sanding paper that reveals color.

How to apply Massif micro-stone paint?
The application of Massif micro-stone paint starts with a coat of Omniprim or Wallprim primer (depending on the substrate) in the same color.
The next step is applying Massif with a special roller or a solid block brush, followed by a trowel; our Marrakech trowel is suitable for the job. After 48 hours of drying, sand it lightly with 150-grit sanding paper (a small hand machine works best).
The second skim coat is applied by the special, flexible spreader.
Optional smooth texture: Sand it again if you prefer a smooth surface. This will make it easier to clean and enhance movement and color hues in darker colors.
Optional sealer finish: Although Massif micro-stone is water resistant, depending on its exposure to water and dirt, it may need protection with our Varnish 1K or 2K. This will make your surface easier to clean and provide additional protection to substrates prone to leakages, like those in shower cabins.
